July 12,2012
Well I finally had a chance to get 4th of July photos worked up. It was such a fun night and I really enjoyed it! Last year I was so sick I couldn't even make it off the couch and after all the fireworks Brett took me to the emergancy room where they decided to admit me to the hospital. I had been running a high fever of 106 for about 3 days and when I went to the doctor they did a blood test and both my red and white cells were almost bottomed out. They put me on medication to see if it would help but by the 4th I knew I was in trouble. It turned out that I had Ehrlichia Chaffeensis otherwise know as a nasty disease you get from a tick. I was in the hospital for about 3 days and took quite awhile to recover. I really don't even remember last 4th of July. So I wanted to make it up this 4th and that we did. We had a few friends and a lot of family over. I did miss my two girls Niki and Jessica but I guess as our kids get older we do have to share them every so often.
Brett decided that he had to mow, exactly what he was mowing I don't know because of the drought the grass is pretty much dead but he said it needed to be mowed. I personally think that he used it as a great excuse to not have to help with all the cleaning lol. Really he is a great guy and is always doing stuff to help but I just can't help but give him a hard time about something lol.
It's not the 4th without Old Glory
I think everyone had a great time.

About Me
- Tammy
- Ponca City, Oklahoma, United States
- They always say you can take the girl out of the country but you can't take the country out of the girl. That's me,and now that I am back in the country I couldn't be happier! Thanks to God, we were able to move on to a 40 acre farm. Life on the farm is busy and we are always learning something new. My husband, Brett is the worlds best handyman. He was raised in town but I think that deep down he has always been a country boy. Together we are learning to raise cattle, chickens, and are even venturing into raising goats. We enjoy gardening and we are learning square foot gardening with the help of our mothers. We are striving towards self-sufficient living and hope to be there soon. Along with a passion for the outdoors and animals I also have a passion for photography. I have owned my photography business for about 13 years now. Nothing gives me more pleasure then to photograph a new baby or a couple getting married and beginning a new life together. I hope that you will join us as we learn new things and enjoy life on the farm.

Anna's Wedding
Well we did it!!! Anna and Jeremiah had a beautiful wedding thanks to many people. Jannie did all the flowers which turned out beautiful; I don't know what we would do without all her talent!!! Tim and Cheryl, my brother and sister in law came all the way from Montana and were a blessing to have around to help. My parents pitched in with all the excitement and helped also. Oh yeah... I cannot forget my dear husband who pitched in also and helped me stay sane the whole time.
I have photographed many weddings but this was my first one to put on. To tell you the truth photographing a wedding is sooooo much easier!! Things really did go smooth and there were only a few things that we...well I guess I should say I lost. Let me just say one thing, it is not a good thing to lose the ring bearers pants lol. I know I put everything together but somehow I managed to lose the pants. At the very last minute I went to get him some new ones, which by the way is really hard to find in our small town. I did manage to find some and rushed to the church. My poor little grandson went to put them on and couldn't even get them to button up, they were way too small! So, I sent the groom and his brother to exchange them. Something told me that was a mistake because not only was I sending two men to get pants for a little boy but I was sending the groom right before the wedding to do something that could possibly make him late to his own wedding. Well they made it back on time but the only pants that they could find for him was a size 18 and he is a size 10!!! Believe it or not we made it work, we called GRANDMA!! She brought the safety pins and the guys pinned them up.
I think that I should defiantly stick to just photographing weddings, either that or next time hire a wedding coordinator. In the end things turned out beautiful and the kids had a great time thanks to everyone that pitched in.
I would like to give a special thank you to my mother in law who once again made things beautiful. Your talent is amazing, your love in unending, and I couldn't love you more!!!!

Graduation
Well our little girl Jessica did it, she graduated on May 18th. Her plans for college is to go to Cowley County Community College in Arkansas City, Kansas, the same college that I graduated from! I can't believe that the time has come for her to leave us. I know she is just going 30 miles away but it seems like 100 miles to me. There are so many things that you try to install in your children as you raise them, good morals, high standards, and a love for God. In the end it is up to them and you just pray that they remember everything that you have taught them.
I am so proud of Jessica, she has kept her standards high and she is a very loving, caring person. I am proud to call her my daughter. I will miss her so much when she goes away to college in the fall and it is going to seem strange to not have her at the house any longer. And of course I will miss her help! She has always been a big help around the house even if it did take a little or a lot of persuading. In the end she always came through and has made my life much easier. Now that she will be gone we won't have that person there telling us to pick up after ourselves and I can't imagine what the house is going to look like now. Guess that just means that she will have to come home on the weekends to make sure that things aren't getting too bad.
Jessica, from your dad and I both, we love you and are soooooo proud of you. Don't ever change who you are and continue to hold your self high. Don't forget God, and remember to keep him close to you. May you always have that shining smile on your face and may life be everything that you want and more. Don't forget us either! Love Mom and Dad

Happy Belated Mothers Day
Not only am I blessed with a wonderful mother but I am also blessed with a wonderful mother-in-law. It is thanks to her that I am married to a very talented and caring husband. She raised him with high standards and taught him many things. She also has been a very important part in our lives. She has always been there for us and has used many of her talents to help me decorate our home, throw awsome parties for the kids, and many other things. She is a beautiful person inside and outside and I couldn't ask for a better mother-in-law. I love you and thank you for all you have done and all you continue to do!
Happy Belated Mothers Day
Well I would have posted this yesterday but between photo shoots and working out in the garden and playing with the goats I was kind of busy.
I didn't want to leave it out though so I guess it is better late then never...
This is for my beautiful mother that has always been there for me. I am so grateful for the values that you instilled in me, for the high morals that you set for me, and most of all I am grateful for the unconditional love that you always showed me.
Most people are not blessed enough to have their parents close like I do. I went too long without having my parents close to me and now that they are on the same property as us, I feel blessed everyday to wake up and know that they are there. Like Brett says, they are the "gate keepers". They help take care of Cerinaty, they help with the animals, and they keep us in line.
Thank You Mother for everything that you have done and for everything that you do. I Love You!!

Cerinaty's School photos
Cerinaty is growing up too fast! It's hard to believe that she will be in 4th grade next year. She is our last baby and we thank God everyday for her. She keeps us young and on our toes.
Cerinaty is blessed to have both of her grandparents close. My parents live on our land with us, they moved their trailer from Joplin, MO about 3 years ago. Brett's parents live in town and are alway coming to spend time with us. As you can see she loves her grandpa, especially when he is being silly.

I have had a blast with seniors this past few weeks. I can't believe it is almost time for graduation. Our Jessica is a senior this year and I am having a hard time with the letting go part. It's so exciting to see your child go on to the next chapter in their life but at the same time it is so hard to let go of them because this is it, no turning back and no redo's. All I have to say is enjoy your children why they are there with you. Cherish every minute, because time goes by so fast that before you know it they will be leaving home.
It's been a long time since I blogged last. As you can see we have added a few animals to our farm. This photo is of my brother Dan who came for a visit when we first got the calves. We have also added chickens and we are getting ready to add goats. Hard to believe that we have been there for almost 4 years now.
I have been busy with photo shoots and farm life so I kind of let the blogging go for awhile, but I'm back now so I hope you join along as I share not only my photo life with you but my farm life. Join with me and my family as we experience life on the farm. I promise you will not get bored because there is always something going on here!
